Physiological effects of combined NaCl and NaHCO3 stress on the seedlings of two maple species

Salt stress impacts growth and physiological processes in plants, some plants exposed to salt will produce mechanisms adapt the new environment. However, effects of combined NaCl NaHCO3 on seedlings Acer species are understudied. In this study, we designed an experiment measure characteristics by establishing a range NaHCO 3 concentrations (0, 25, 50, 75, 100 mmol L -1 ) estimate compound tolerance ginnala palmatum . When were 25 , leaf water content, relative conductivity, malondialdehyde (MDA) proline soluble sugar chlorophyll did not change ( p > 0.05) two maple seedlings. At greater than 50 conductivity MDA content increased, sugars accumulated, potential activity PS II F v /F o ), photochemical efficiency / m actual (Yield), photosynthetic electron transfer (ETR) decreased < 0.05). The superoxide dismutase (SOD) catalase (CAT) activities showed same trend first increasing then decreasing peroxidase (POD) increased only when while there was no statistical difference between other treatments control. Therefore, adjusted their osmotic balance alleviated oxidative accumulating proline, CAT SOD activities. Further analysis that both tolerant is better
